Gowercroft Joinery Level 3 apprentice, Greg Kasowicz, age 23 from Sutton-in-Ashfield, has won the award for The BWF Trainee of the Year. The prestigious BWF Woodworking Awards showcase the best of UK joinery, recognising the projects, products, processes and people that have hit the heights of woodworking excellence in the last year. Greg wowed the judges with his progression in the company, his achievements over the past 18 months and his general attitude.
On a star-studded night at the Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, Greg was chosen from all of trainees across over 700 joinery companies in the UK. The evening was presented and compared by Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards, the popular British record holder for the ski jump.
Greg said of receiving the award; “I can’t believe I have been chosen as BWF Trainee of the Year, it’s a fantastic honour and the best moment of my career to date.”
Gowercroft Managing Director, Andrew Madge, went on to say; “Greg is such an important member of our team. He has grown and developed so quickly over the past 18 months and this award is completely deserved.
